Still very much a work in progress, this wall hanging will be one overall landscape comprised of many landscapes from around the world - from Iran, Punta Cana and Papua New Guinea back home to the Windy City skyline. It is commissioned by the daughters of a world traveler who photographed her journeys over many years. The many textures and red-tone fabrics chosen for this piece were found in the world traveler’s very own home town of Chicago because, when it’s all said and done, there’s no place like home.
I sure hope that you check out some of my other finished quilts and that you come back soon to see how this one progresses. My quilts are made with thousands of pieces of cloth and take a long time to create. Each design is as unique as the person for whom I am creating it. They tell me that it’s worth the wait! When the going gets rough in my tiny little studio, I sometimes wonder if that’s true!
